Two Ingredients Homemade Milk Barfi Recipe | Easy Delicious Recipe
In this lockdown, we all are unleashing our inner creativity in the kitchen, so do I. I have been cooking some of the best and delicious things for my family and they are in love with the food. Since very limited items are available in the market, I try to recreate things with as few ingredients as possible. Today I will share this very delicious barfi recipe that I made for my family on the occasion of Baisakhi. Let's get started!
What You Will Need
- One can Milkmaid or any condensed milk(400ml)
- 1.5 liters of Full Cream Milk (I used Amul)
- 4 tablespoon desi ghee (Optional)
- Elaichi powder and saffron (optional)
- Dry fruits (optional)
- 1 tablespoon desi ghee for spreading
This will make about 600-700grams of sweet.
Note: No need to add sugar as the condensed milk contains enough sugar in it and so do the full cream milk. In case you like less sugar, increase milk quantity and add only 3/4th of milkmaid can.
Time Taken
It will take about 1.5 hours from preparation to finishing.
How to Make
1. Boil full cream milk on high flame. Add condensed milk as the milk starts to boil.
2. Stir it every 5 minutes scraping off the cream from the sides and mix it properly in the milk.
3. Once the consistency has reduced to half, you can add dry fruits, elaichi powder or saffron if you like. You can also add crushed Coconut at this point if you love.
4. Once it starts thickening, reduce the flame or heat if you are using induction chulha otherwise it might burn. Keep stirring it to avoid sticking at the bottom. If you see brown particles, no need to worry, it is just caramelised milk. Make sure to stir it continuously.
5. Add desi ghee in the mix while stirring it if you like otherwise you can skip it. I like the flavor of desi ghee in my sweets. Stir it until it becomes thick like halwa.
6. Prepare a plate with depth with desi ghee and transfer the mix to this while it is hot.
7. Spread it evenly...
8. Garnish it with your favorite dry fruits. I used almonds. Let it cool down.
9. Your delicious barfi is ready to eat. You can cut it into desired pieces or design when it has set nicely after cooling down.
