Maybelline The Blushed Nudes Eyeshadow Palette Review | Swatches
While preparing for my wedding trousseau and vanity, eyeshadow palettes were the first thing on my mind. They are a thing of everyday use for a newlywed bride, adding a touch of color and shimmer to the eyes. Instead of spending my money on unnecessary palettes that I might not be using regularly, I thought of getting some useful ones, like The Blushed Nudes eyeshadow palette from Maybelline. But when I was planning to purchase it, Maybelline sent it to me as a gift. Read until the end to know more about this and why Maybelline sent it as a gift to me.

Packaging & Texture
Maybelline The Blushed Nudes Eyeshadow palette has standard palette design common among all the Maybelline products. It has a gorgeous rose gold shade inspired from its name, The Blushed Nudes. All the eyeshadow shades in the palette have a hint of rose gold in them. There are 12 shades, having a mix of shimmery and matte ones. It also has an applicator which I really like. The applicator has a brush on one end with soft bristles and a sponge eyeshadow applicator on the other end.
The texture of the eyeshadows is pretty smooth but the pigmentation is not up to the mark. Even the darkest of the eyeshadow fails to deliver pigment in a single swipe. You will have to apply multiple layers to get the right color. However, you can easily blend them to create a shade of your own too.
How to use
Step 1: Color Entire Eye Area.
Step 2: Shade Lid.Step 3: Contour Crease.
Step 4: Line Around Eye.
Adding a little primer or applying a little BB cream on your eyelids can help in enhancing the colors of the eyeshadow while making it long-lasting. You can create various looks using all these eyeshadows in different combinations.
Swatch
Here is the swatch of the eyeshadow shades using a single swipe. You can see how much is the color payoff...A single swipe of eyeshadow doesn't give much pigmentation |
Here is the swatch of the eyeshadow shades using multiple swipes. Using a primer or BB cream can be of great help in getting the desired look.

My Take
I love all the shades in this palette and the cost is also fine, but I prefer to have a bit more pigmentation when it comes to eyeshadows. However, I really like the variety this palette offers for nude makeup and everyday makeup when you want to keep things subtle. Some of the shimmery shades are perfect for creating a smokey effect by blending them in the black eyeshadows or the dark brown-black, coppery shimmer shades available in the palette. The applicator is pretty cool, making it much easier for applying eyeshadow in the go. Apart from pigmentation, it is great!
Pros
- A variety of shades for different looks
- A mix of matte as well as shimmer shades
- Smooth texture
- Blends perfectly
- Cost-effective
- Easily available
- The applicator is good and picks up color nicely
- Great for everyday makeup
Cons
- Pigmentation is poor
- Need multiple layers for color turnout
Experience with Maybelline & L'Oreal
You must be wondering what is the whole story behind this fiasco and why Maybelline sent me this product. So let me tell you. I called out their one very popular product for containing Lead and that product was Maybelline SuperStay Foundation. I didn't perform any lab test or anything on this but experienced something really weird and this fact that it contains lead was confirmed and informed to me by a representative from Nykaa. You can read the whole story here at Why you should never buy Maybelline SuperStay Foundation!
Maybelline sent this eyeshadow palette as a gift and mentioned in the letter that their products are completely safe for our skin. But they were unable to explain the fact that why my silver ring reacted like this on touching it with the foundation. I still wonder about it!
I hope you loved the review and will share your thoughts and suggestions with me on this.
Lots of Love!!!

I have same feelings when it comes to this pallette - the color scheme is really nice but the pigmentation could be way way better. Greetings from the Netherlands!
