Having sensitive skin in the summer season can be devastating. No matter how much sunscreen you apply or be careful by covering your face, the sun can cause damage. So in this summer season, I thought of getting something to soothe sunburn caused by the sun and got The Face Shop Fresh Jeju Lotus Soothing Gel. It is lightweight and is said to provide relief from sun damage. so let us check out how successful it was in doing it.

The soothing lotus gel is transparent in colour and has gel based consistency. It is quite similar to aloe vera gel when you scrape it out of the leaf, without the stickiness. It is very lightweight and gets absorbed into the skin perfectly. If you are looking out for a lightweight moisturiser, or a good primer, this can be your go-to solution. It smells of a typical lotus flower as the ingredients too constitute extracts of a lotus flower. The fragrance is not too strong to disturb your senses. It is mild and lingers for a short while only when you use it.
However, the moisture does not stay on for too long on my combination skin so it might not be enough for people with dry skin. If you are looking out for sun damage care and sunburn relief, this can be helpful. It evaporates with a cooling effect on the skin alleviating the pain and burning sensation caused by the sun. I keep it in the refrigerator for sometime before applying it on my face for a cooling sensation.
Don't have any high hopes from this lotus gel as it will do nothing but moisturise your skin slightly and give a cooling effect. And that cooling effect is also due to the alcohol which is present in it. I will not purchase it again as this will last for a good while and I prefer using actual aloe vera gel instead of this.

It comes in a huge translucent jar tub with a white cap on top. Then there is another plastic flap to keep the gel inside the tub only. Although it looks travel-friendly only if you are willing to keep it in the luggage bag and not your handbag, it is very bulky.
