Maybelline Color Sensational Reds On Fire Lipstick | 01 Smokey Red

Maybelline launched 5 limited edition lipsticks on Valentine's Day this year. Although they are all different shades of red, every lipstick has its own unique feel ranging from pinkish tones to dark reds. I was eyeing this collection for quite some time and one particular lipstick caught my eye - Maybelline Color Sensational Reds On Fire Lipstick | 01 Smokey Red. This is a gorgeous red lipstick with black marbling effect giving it a sort of mysterious magnetic attraction. Let's find out more about this gorgeous lipstick.

Shade

This is shade 01 Smokey Red. Other lipsticks are also great in this collection, but this one is so cool. With a black marble effect, this dark red lipstick with blue undertones looks absolutely delightful. It looks sort of maroonish on the lips, but that may be coz of my dark lips.

Ingredients

Packaging & Texture

Packaging is pretty standard with red and black ombre look on the cap and black holder under. It closes with a snap so good for travelling within your handbag. The bullet of this lipstick is pretty darn attractive to look at. Black marbling effect on the lower side and luscious red on top are really mesmerising. It has a creamy texture which dries down to soft creamy look with moderate shine. It does not transfer much but does leave a couple red marks here and there on cups and spoons.

My Take

I am a fan of red lipsticks and really loved this one. The look is mesmerising, the texture is soft and creamy glides on the lips well. It has a slight glossy finish which I have started to like. Does not settles in the lines or dry out the lips. Moisturising feel for the lips helps a lot. The pigmentation is also good with this lipstick. I have dark lips and it covered them pretty well with two swipes. Mind you, you will need 2 swipes for proper colour. However, the only thing which is not up to the mark for me is it's lasting. The lipstick lasted for about 2-3 hours and kept fading away with every meal or drink. Overall, it is a nice product and a must try.
