Winter Organic Hair Care | Onion Oil | Rosemary Oil | Review
Winter is the time when you need to pay extra attention to making your hair lush and silky. Dryness of the season can cause several issues including dandruff, itchiness, hair fall, frizz and tangles. Even minor case of dandruff can become severe during this time leading to hair fall and making hair look dull. Every single year during winter I suffer from severe dandruff. No matter what I try, coconut oil, olive oil, moisturising shampoos and conditioning, nothing works for me. So this year I wanted to be prepared from advance with a little help from nature.
Since I'm a big fan of essential oils, I got Onion herbal hair oil and Rosemary essential oil from Rey Naturals. Let me tell you about them, one by one
Who doesnt know about the benefits of Rosemary essential oil. Not just for hair but for the skin as well, it is a must-have for every girl. Rosemary essential oil has antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties which stimulates new hair growth and also promote a healthy scalp.
Since it is 100% pure Rosemary essential oil, I can think of an endless number of ways to use it. For hair, I add 2-3 drops using the dropper that comes with the pack, into a carrier oil and massage it to my scalp. After washing my hair, I add 2-3 drops in a tumbler full of water and rinse my hair with this, making sure it covers my scalp and hair to the tips. After this, I towel dry my hair. It helps in preventing frizz and dandruff.
Apart from this, I add a few drops to the oil diffuser for a quick aromatherapy. Apply it on burns, swellings and injuries. Add it to my bath water to relax. There are many ways you use can use pure rosemary essential oil.
I have heard a lot about onion and its benefits for hair. But I never liked the smell of onion in my hair. However to my surprise, this oil does not have a very overpowering smell of onions, as the essence of onion is mixed with other essential oils such as Sandalwood oils, rose oils and jojoba oil. It contains Red Onion Extract, Coconut Oil, Sunflower Oil, Vitamin E, Castor Oil, Argan Oil, Jojoba Oil, Amla Extract, Hibiscus Extract, Neem Oil, Bhringraj Extract.
I use it thrice a week before shampooing my hair. Take a required amount, although less is enough to cover the entire scalp, massage it on the roots until it is absorbed. You might experience a slight tingling on the scalp so don't worry, these are the oils working. Leave it overnight and wash off with a herbal shampoo the next day. I am using The Body Shop Rainforest Moisture shampoo right now.
It comes in a pump bottle so taking out oil in required quantities is not an issue. Also, there is no oily residue on the bottle or spills due to the packaging.
I can see a visible change in the texture of my hair and dandruff. They have become more shiny, reduced hair fall (from few to none), and less itching on the scalp. It has been a month since I started using this so looking forward to experiencing better results. Can't say anything about premature greying though.
