Hacks to Make Your Periods Less Painful

Periods!

The word is enough to tell someone about the pain and discomfort a girl or a woman goes through in those 5 days. The pain, duration and experience one goes through during period can vary from person to person. Some of us will have too much bloating or none at all. Some of us will feel tired or super active. Too quiet or too loud and irritated, too many cravings or not feeling hungry at all, pain in the stomach and lower abdomen, back and lower body or located in any one part of the body. It comes in every shape, size and form, making our lives hell for those days.

Being a girl, I feel it is my responsibility to share these life hacks to make periods a little bearable and less painful for you as much as possible. Go on girl, read them!

1 ) Cut down your coffee

A hot cup of coffee may seem like a good idea to comfort painful cramps, but it comes with troubles. Caffeine can cause your body to retain more water, resulting in a nasty bloated feeling, and worsen cramps. Don't make things harder than they already are.

2 ) Periods healthy snacks

Some good things to include in those snacks are fatty nuts like almonds, oranges, bananas, and a lil bit of dark chocolate. This will give you strength and help your cravings.

3 ) Light exercise

I know the last thing you want to do when your uterus feels like it's trying to claw its way out of your body is go running. When you exercise, your body releases endorphins, a hormone that makes you feel good. Those endorphins can counteract the bad hormones that give you cramps (prostaglandins).

4 ) Sleep earlier

I know, I know you love sleeping, but a girl has to work or study too. Going to bed a bit early is the best way to combat period sleepiness. This way you can increase the hours of sleep and stay and feel relaxed. You can keep the temperature in your room to cosy, not too warm not too cold for good sleep during those days.

5 ) Use hot bottle (hot pad)

Not only does heat feel really nice and cosy, but it stimulates blood flow and lessens pain from cramps.

I hope all these tips will come in handy for you. If you have any tips to share for making periods less painful for other girls, do share them with me in the comments below.

Lots of Love!!!
