Street Style Roasted Corn: Recipe Indian Street Snack
I still remember the days when my grandfather used to take us for evening walks and on the way, we get the opportunity to chow down on my favorite street snack- Roasted Corns!
With the beginning of monsoon, it is a ritual for me to enjoy roasted corns every other day. Roasted corns are priced depending on the locality from where you are buying them and the size of the corn, but it always affordable. This is the reason why so many Indians love to eat roasted corn.
It is my favorite snack coz it is free from any artificial flavoring, its healthy and organic. You have the opportunity to add flavor with spices and lemons, so you get every taste you wish to have without compromising with its natural flavoring.
If it is your favorite snack too, get ready to have the same flavour at home with me. Let's go!
What You Need:
- Corn cobs ( As many you need)
- 1 Lemon or lime
- Salt ( Common salt or black salt, depending on your taste)
- Any other seasoning you like ( Oregano seasoning, butter, garlic powder or any other seasoning that you wish to enjoy ( It is optional)
1. Remove the covering and hair from corn cob. Clean it properly.
2. Once done, switch on the gas. I will advise you to choose the smallest burner since it gives a concentrated heating. Keep it on full flame. If possible for you, use charcoal for roasting corn cobs, otherwise your gas stove will work too.
Slowly roast the corn cob rotating it on the burner. Try not to leave one side towards fire for long time otherwise it will get charred spoiling the flavor for you.
3. Now cut a small sliver of lemon or lime.. Dip the lemon or lime into salt slightly and start rubbing gently on the roasted corn cob. Try to apply salt and lemon on hot corn cob for an even seasoning. You can also sprinkle any other seasoning condiment that you love.
