The
combination skin is something that needs regular serious skincare rituals.
Combination skin is mixed of different skin types. It has oily T-zone
(forehead, nose and chin) and the other parts of your face like cheeks are dry
and flaky. So, you have to take care of your skin, by paying more attention
than other skin types may require. Otherwise your skin can be easily damaged
with acne, pimples, serious UV damages and even may lead to skin cancer. But
don’t worry! Combination skin is very common and at the end of this post you
will be aware of the skin routine you can implement. Let’s scroll down.

1. BASIC SKINCARE ROUTINE
A basic
skincare routine is comprised of cleansing, toning, moisturizing. These steps
are essential for balance of the skin and for the skin health too. These three
steps prevent breakouts, the most common problem of combination skin and
premature aging.
CLEANSING
|
Combination
skin requires gentle cleansing. Don’t use soaps. If you are using, stop
immediately and buy a gentle cleanser, suitable for your skin. Foaming
cleansers are good for combination skin.
TONING
|
Toner is a
must in everyday’s skincare routine for everyone, but for combination skin it
is a need. It balances your skin and removes the last traces of your cleanser.
Toner also helps in shrinking the pores and thus it helps in acne. Here, you
have to purchase two different kinds of toner for different part of the year.
For the summers, use a refreshing toner with oil-free ingredients like aloe
vera, tea-tree. For winter months your toner will be a hydrating one with
ingredients like rose hips or jojoba oil.
MOISTURIZING
|
For
combination skin, you might remember that whatever product you will use, must
be gentle, contains no harsh or skin-aggravating ingredients. It is better to
purchase moisturizers meant for combination skin. You may also buy different
moisturizers for different areas. Try heavier creams for dry areas and lighter,
gel-based for T-zone.
2. SUNSCREEN
|
The next
important step which important for all skin types though, is using SUNSCREEN.
You should never skip a sunscreen at daytime, even in winter or it is cloudy.
The sunscreen protect our skin from harmful UV rays which may cause skin
damage, premature aging and even skin cancer. Buy a sunscreen for combination
skin and must ensure that it must be with at least SPF 30. Matt- finish
sunscreen lotions are good for combination skin.
3. NIGHT CREAM
|
Night cream
repaires and hydrates the tired skin, giving healthy glow in the morning. This
is because your skin absorbs all the vitamins and other nutrients better when
you sleep. It is an anti-aging tool too. Many effective night creams for
combination skin are available in the market.
4. EXFOLIATION
|
Exfoliating
removes dead skin cells and helps in removing white heads and blackheads. It
opens up the pores to help the skin to start breathing and to absorb the
benefits of the gels and lotions easily, giving you a polished face. When you
use a scrub on your face , be gentle on your cheeks and rub the scrub a bit
more on T-zone, especially the nose area. Buy a scrub with very tiny beads.
5. NOURISHING MASK
|
When you
choose a mask for combination skin, keep in mind that the mask might be one
that absorbs oil and at the same time imparts hydration. Any clay mask works
the best for combination skin. You can use homemade mask mixing coconut oil and
honey and fuller’s earth.
So
above tips will be beneficial for your combination skin. And I think you can easily
follow the routine. With all these skincare rituals must follow some lifestyle
regimen also.
1. Don’t touch your skin now and then,
because your hands carry germs.
2. Eat a healthy and balanced diet.
3. Drink plenty of water.
4. Do exercises daily.
