Review: Sugar Matte as Hell Crayon Lipstick- 01 Scarlett O'Hara

Oh sugar baby!

Sugar Matte as Hell Crayon Lipstick has become my favorite. I have a thing for red lipsticks, especially the matte ones. Prior to this one Colorbar Soft Touch Lipcolor in Hot e shade was my favorite and it still is.

This German brand has tried its best to sweep me off the floor and it is successful in it. I got my Sugar Matte as Hell Crayon Lipstick- 01 Scarlett O'Hara in Fab Bag December 2015 edition and loved it to the core.

Website claims,

"If excellent coverage and high colour pay-off is what gets you going, you will absolutely love our new Matte As Hell Crayon Lipstick that is available in 4 gorgeous shades to suit your taste & your ever-changing mood! Super long-lasting and highly pigmented so you don’t have to worry about constant re-application, this must-have crayon lipstick has a soft texture with a silky matter finish.

Sugar Matte as Hell Crayon Lipstick- 01 Scarlett O'Hara comes with a sharpener designed for the lip crayon. It also has a cleaner to remove lipstick leftover from blade while sharpening it.

The Sugar Matte As Hell Crayon Lipstick has a creamy consistency that eventually settles in to a matte finish. With stunning shades that don’t fail to impress, it provides maximum coverage with the right amount of color. This power product is dermatologically tested & approved and 100% safe for your skin..

Although you might need a little practice to perfect the look especially if you are trying crayon lipstick for the first time. Go crazy over it for couple of first application.

The crayon is easy to handle and use with perfect grip. It has a cap which stays firm even while carrying it around in the handbag so do not worry about turning the insides of your handbag red.

Cost: Rs.799

The quantity is fairly good at this cost.

You can get good color pigmentation with one swipe but for perfect red lips, a couple of swipes is necessaryScarlett O'Hara is a very nice red, my type of red. It is not too bright yet can grab attention. It has blue undertones, giving it sort of magenta red touch. With one swipe, it will look like dark pink merged with red so you need couple of swipes for perfect red.

Pros:

  • Are creamy and glide on easily on lips.
  • Super pigmented. Two swipes and you get a full on opaque coverage. you could also pat these on lips and use as a stain.
  • They feel almost nothing on lips. You apply these and you almost forget that you have anything on your lips.
  • Stay on for atleast 4-5 hours and the stain stays until you remove the lipstick with a makeup remover.
  • Transfer very little.
  • These build up very nicely. Infact I always go thrice or 4 times to make them looks super bright. Plus they are so creamy, I forget when to stop. 😛
  • Are not hydrating but I did not find them to be drying or uncomfortable on lips.
  • Do not accentuate fine lines of lips. But by rule, always use matte lipsticks on well exfoliated lips or they’d catch every single flaw.
  • Survive the full meals easily without the need for touchups afterwards.
  • I like that these are sharpenable pencils and the sharpener comes along with. But for some it may be a con because sharpening leads to product wastage. I don’t mind it because I like working with a fresh tip every time.
  • Love the simple clean design and the fact that the tips are coloured. So they are easy to store and locate.
  • Do not have any smell or taste to them.
  • I also like that there are fun names to these lipsticks.
Conas
  • The brighter shades of the lipsticks smudge especially after you eat a full meal. So you definitley need a lip liner underneath to keep the lipstick in place.
